❗️Meta Given Record $1.3 Billion Privacy Fine

On Monday, the Irish Data Protection Commission slapped Meta with a record EU data privacy fine of $1.3 billion for failing to protect user data from being seen by US security services.[RT]

The Big Tech giant has been given a five-month deadline to suspend personal data to the US and six months to stop the illegal processing and sorting of said data.

Meta rejected the ruling as “flawed” and “unjustified,” with measures set to carve the internet up into “regional silos” and also “restrict the global economy,” according to Meta president of global affairs Nick Clegg.
