Khan confidant Shah Mehmood Qureshi was snatched by Islamabad police and whisked off to an “undisclosed location,” PTI news agency reported, with other prominent leaders of Khan’s party arrested for “threatening peace and inciting arson.”

Imran Khan expressed fears he “could be given an injection that causes a person to die slowly,” which intensified protests not only in Pakistan, but also abroad, with supporters in London and Washington taking to the streets to demand his release.
