Kayiwa International University qualifications declared null and void

The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has declared qualifications from Kayiwa International University that were awarded on 10th, June 2022 illegal.

A team of NCHE officials led by Mr. Cyrus Sebugenyi made it clear that the university was closed in 2019 even after opening in just 2015. This was amidst failure to meet the minimum requirements set by the national council.

Among these included failure to pay tax, inadequate infrastructure, lack of qualified personnel which the university failed to fulfill even after meetings that were intended to streamline the operations of the university.

The officials wanted to close the university on the graduation date which was halted by the Rubaga RCC, Anderson Buroro. However they made it clear that the university authorities will be prosecuted by the DPP.
