Kanungu  Receives Relief Food

Following the hailstorm that hit Kanungu district in January 4th/2022 in areas of Kihiihi T.C, Kihiihi Sub-County, Nyamirama Town Council and Kayonza Sub-County. 

Kanungu district has received  20,000Kgs of Maize and 10,000Kgs of beans from the office of Prime Minister for disaster response to the affected families and the relief which was distributed yesterday  26/May.2022.

Amanyire Ambrose RDC Kanungu has extended his gratitude to the Prime Minister's office for the quick response adding that the response is for the first incident that occurred in January 2022 but the recent had a lot of catastrophe in Kanungu Town Council area which is categorically not taken by now but it has a high outcry. 

Hon. Sam Kajojo District Chairperson expressed his concern to the most recent affected area of Kanungu Town Council that was hit by hailstorm on 12/May.2022, comforting the residents that dispite sending the letters to the Prime Ministers office he is in touch with the MP Kinkiizi East to make sure that the affected house holds are also covered not only in food relief but also on the damaged properties like schools, hospitals, institutions and house holds. 

Abeneitwe Robert CAO Kanungu has emphasised that when distributing, families should be well presented by both a man and a woman to avoid selling and exchanging it with alcohol.  Kayonza Sub-County have taken 130bags of posho and 70 bags of beans each with 50kgs for 579 house holds, Kihiihi Sub-County 130bags of posho, 70 bags of beans for 510 house holds, Kihiihi Town Council 70 bags of posho, 30bags of beans for 253 house holds and Nyamirama Town Council 70 bags of maize flour 30 bags of beans for 250 house holds.
