Biden Names First Black  Press Sec - Jean-Pierre


Jean-Pierre will become the first-ever black person, to serve as White House Press Sec as she takes over the role next Friday. 


Jean-Pierre, who had worked as deputy Press Sec since Biden came to power, and also worked in the White House during the Obama administration, hailed her appointment as a "historic" and "emotional". Before her, only one black woman had worked as deputy Press Sec. 


"Representation matters," said Psaki, adding that her successor is going to "show so many what is truly possible when you work hard and dream big.

Her partner is a CNN political reporter Suzanne Malveux.
